Haven't been everywhere, but it's on my list

Brown eyed girl

Brown eyed girl

Turning 25 in a month. Still being constantly asked for an ID and mistaken for a high school student. Ten years ago, I wanted to be a grown up. Today, I don’t think there is such a thing as adulthood. So what did I learn in the quarter-century?

  • What we see depends mainly on what we look for. And it’s all about timing.
  • Self-confidence is hot. After all, everyone mostly cares about themselves. So everything that seems like the worst awkwardness to you, no one else might even notice.
  • Procrastination is your worst enemy. Don’t leave it for tomorrow what you can do today.
  • Life is not about finding yourself; it’s about creating yourself.
  • Goals are dreams with deadlines. And when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.
  • A ship in harbor is safe, but that’s not what ships are built for. Travel. As much as you can; as far as you can.
  • Life begins at the end of your comfort zone. Sometimes all you need is a few seconds of insane courage; and something great will come out of it.
  • Mom is (almost) always right.
  • High heels are not worth the pain.
  • There is no such a thing as bad weather; just bad clothing.
  • You can be surrounded by many people and still feel lonely.
  • Sadness is not necessarily a bad thing. It is a part of life.
  • Forgive others. Not because they deserve forgiveness, but because you deserve peace.
  • When one door closes another opens. Or you can open the closed door. That’s how doors work. Every exit is an entrance somewhere else.
  • It is not our abilities that show what we truly are; it is our choices. May your choices reflect your hopes, not your fears.
  • My success is not your failure.
  • It doesn’t matter how slowly you go, as long as you don’t stop. In order to find yourself, you first have to get lost.
  • When you get through tough times on your own, you don’t really care who stays in your life. And if they want to leave, hold the door open for them.
  • There comes a time when you have to stop crossing oceans for people who won’t even jump a puddle for you.
  • Everything that is happening to you in life is supposed to be happening. So just relax.
